A small reset that makes a big difference

I’m writing this because I’ve hit that point.

You know the one. Where everything feels a bit messy, you’re juggling too much, and no matter how on it you think you are, things are still slipping through.

That’s been me recently.

Too many tabs open, too many things to keep track of, a few missed messages, constantly feeling like I’m catching up instead of actually being in control of things.

And if I’m honest, it doesn’t look great.

Not because the work isn’t strong, but because the experience around it starts to feel a bit scrappy. And that’s not the standard I want to run at.

So this is me sorting it out properly, because running a design studio isn’t just about having great ideas. It’s about how you deliver them, every single time.

That’s where workflows come in.

Not rigid, corporate processes that suck the life out of everything. Proper, well thought out systems that support how you work and make things feel smoother, calmer, and a lot more under control.

Because chaos might feel creative, but it’s not something you can build on.

Without a clear way of working, every project becomes a bit of a free-for-all. You’re digging through folders, rewriting the same emails, trying to remember what stage you’re at, and making loads of tiny decisions that don’t need to exist, it’s exhausting!

A good workflow cuts all of that out.

Recently, I’ve definitely felt the cracks.

I’ve been a bit all over the place. Too many moving parts, messages missed, constantly trying to stay on top of everything instead of actually being ahead of it.

And the reality is, even if the work is good, that kind of experience doesn’t reflect it.

That’s on me.

And it’s exactly why getting proper systems in place matters. Not just for me, but for anyone working with me.

Streamlining is about working properly

People hear “streamlining” and think it just means faster, it doesn’t.

It means:

• fewer mistakes

• more consistency

• better use of your time

• a smoother overall experience
  

All the small inefficiencies you ignore day to day quietly build up. Streamlining is just about tightening those up. It also creates a bit of healthy structure around projects, because without that, you can end up in situations where timelines blur, feedback comes in drips, and suddenly you’re deep in back-and-forth on something that was never scoped that way in the first place.
